The UNESCO World Heritage site of Avebury in Wiltshire, UK is place that has a deep history of human engagement. During the latter half of 2018 and throughout 2019, artists from Bath Artists’ Studios have been visiting Avebury, and its associated monuments, collectively and individually, as a field based methodology that focuses on site specific making, collaboration and creative practice. This is a cross-disciplinary project with aritsts working in a wide range of media and processes. The outcome is a body of work that is textured, experimental, contextual and conversational. This exhibition presents the outcome of some of that work. Avebury is an on-going collaboration about place, process, site and landscape that places value on collaboration, promotes the sharing of ideas and celebrates the diversity of artistic work of studio holders from Bath Artists’ Studios. Details of the artists’ practice and their contact details can be found on the Bath Artists’ Studios website.
