Sarah Feinmann: Overlooked

15th November - 6th December 2019 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm

‘I am drawn to deteriorating surfaces that expose their materiality, from weathered wood to the remnants of torn down notices to the ghost traces left behind on a wall. The inconsequential, the dismissed and the overlooked provide the catalyst to my work. Working from aspects of urban dereliction, taken from the photographs that catch my eye, some develop into series of re-explored images that become more abstract as the components are repeated. I like to use a wide range of found materials, collaging in both 2D and 3D assemblages, cut up clothing to printmaking and artists books.’

Trained at Manchester Polytechnic, Sarah Feinmann is based at Rogue Artists Studios in Manchester.  Her work has been exhibited widely around the UK in London, Liverpool, Newcastle, Hull and Lancashire.
