The influence of the landscape, in particular of childhood acts as a mechanism for locating the work in my personal associations of home and also to that of past romantic visions, particularly through the history of painting. It acts as a tool for the framing of actions to historical and contemporary interests in that of the sublime, ideology and the power of science fiction – manifesting itself through a romantic sensibility of insouciant materials, primarily exploring notions of home, our sense of belonging, and the societal expectations placed upon us within an increasingly technological society.
